By now it’s fairly obvious that we LOVE everything about the Gracia Festival. Can you blame us? Check out our newest video footage from the 2010 Festa Major de Gracia as it takes you right into the center of all the action! Watch the people in the streets “Move their bodies” to the original songs of their favorite bands or covers of all-time classics. If you pay close enough attention, you might even pick up a new dance move to show off to all of your friends! (Hint hint) you should probably start watching/practicing now… Read more...

The 2010 Gracia Festival came to a close this year with Calle Verdi del Mig taking home the prize for not only best decorated street, but also the award for best website design, and the best reuse of materials and innovation. Normally a landslide victory, Verdi’s “surreal forest” snuck past the runner’s up at La plaza de Rovira i Trias with a margin of victory of only 2 points. After having participated in the Festa Major de Gracia four other times without any special mention, the designers of the “dream garden” at Roviera i Trias could not have been more pleased to be awarded the Gracia Festival’s second prize overall, as well as the accolade for “best lighting.” Read more...

We all love Barcelona for many different reasons. Spain needs to keep the ball moving in midfield and maintain the kind of possession they had in the previous match. Deft touches from players like Barcelona’s Xavi could open up opportu

Spain has reached the final of the World Cup after Barcelona’s defender Carles Puyol scored with a header in the second half to beat Germany 1-0. It is the first time Spain has made it to the final where they will face the Netherlands on Sunday.

They deserved to win. From kick-off they dominated play with smooth midfield passing, finesse, and determination. They somehow seemed to have saved the best for (almost) last. After a few disappointing games they pulled it out of the bag. Iniesta was on fine form as was Xavi. In the first half there were a couple of long shots from Xavi Alonso that went wide and a missed header from Puyol. Read more...
Spain has a big game tonight against Germany and it will be a tough one. It is the first time the current European champions have reached the semi-finals in the World Cup. The winner will face The Netherlands in the final. Despite reaching this stage, Spain’s World Cup performance has not been outstanding so far. Even as one of the favourites to win they lost their opening game to Switzerland and gave a lacklustre performance in the following matches. Read more...

Wandering through the chaotic, narrow streets of the Raval, first impressions of this huge white contemporary creation are as mixed as the comments that surround it. Designed by an American, Richard Meier, this huge white mass of modern architecture certainly makes a statement and definitely provokes a reaction. However, what you cannot question is the talent that is housed within the striking, linear sharp lines of this museum and for that reason alone it has to be a “must see”.
