Exhibition impressions of the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona

I’ve been in Barcelona for 5 years and have only ever seen the monstrosity that is the 3GSM mobile show from the street passing by.  This year I was lucky enough to get a badge to enter.

First of all, the show is HUGE, the biggest one I’ve ever been to for sure.  There are so many exhibit halls, each with thousands of people and booths.  You could probably spend a full day in each section.  On day one I walked around and visited some of the bigger companies to see what they were doing.  Samsung & Blackberry (Research in Motion) must have spent millions on their custom designed booths.  We also saw a very cool new product that lets you charge all your mobile devices without the hassle of chargers and tangled chords called PowerMat.

So my first day at the Mobile World Congress was quite overwhelming.  But we’ll be back each day reporting on all the cool new products and companies we find. Tomorrow we’ll be attending the keynote speaker from Google, so there should be some juicy stuff to report on tomorrow.
